Malnutrition
Malnutrition is the term for a medical condition caused by an improper or inadequate number of calories, protein, or nutrients. The condition may result from an inadequate or unbalanced diet, digestive difficulties, absorption problems, or other medical conditions. In a state of malnutrition the body does not get the calories or nutrients it needs to maintain optimum health. The body may be get plenty of calories - too many in fact - but if a sufficient and balanced supply of nutrients is not ingested and absorbed, then malnutrition of nutrients can be produced.
