  • Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The complete testing costs $9.99 US. When your personalized Online Health Questionnaire is completed, the MedicalAssessment™ program employs scoring algorithms to analyze the data you have provided and, from your data, generates a personalized Health Report.

The Health Report you receive lists the probable conditions and diagnoses that explain your current state of health and delineates the recommended actions you should take for health improvement.

Q: How do I know it's worth it?

A: Making an accurate diagnosis is, to a large extent, dependent on having a clear understanding of all your medical history and current symptoms. MedicalAssessment™ is a comprehensive computer-based medical history questionnaire that will ask you about your current signs, symptoms, diet, laboratory values, medical history, family medical history, medication use, possible medication side effects and interactions, and the presence of other diseases.

The MedicalAssessment™ program then employs scoring algorithms to analyze the data you have provided and generate your personalized Health Report.

The Health Report lists the probable conditions and diagnoses that explain your current state of heath and delineates the recommended actions you should take for health improvement; so everyone, healthy or not, will learn a great deal from their personal Health Report. If you tried to get a similarly thorough history from your doctor, you would have to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Q: How is MedicalAssessment™ different from any other service?

A: There are other web sites that offer screening tests, and some of them are even free, but none look at your entire health history or provide you with a working differential diagnosis.

The other web sites expect you have independently developed a working diagnosis and they then provide you with a simple screen to see if your symptoms correspond to the condition you already assume you have. In contrast, MedicalAssessment™ makes no such assumption - you will be asked all manner of questions about your health, and taken together, these small pieces of information make up the complex puzzle that is your current state of health. MedicalAssessment™ doesn't expect you to know your own differential diagnosis, and the questions it generates are unique to your individual medical profile (not cookie-cutter templates).

MedicalAssessment™ gathers an extensive medical history, one that is more extensive than any your physician would have time to produce, and then uses that medical history to generate a list of probable diagnoses that would explain your medical condition.

Q: What about the privacy of my personal information?

A: We understand that sending personal information into the electronic ether can be of great concern. In order to insure the security of your health information and your anonymity, we have separated the payment process from the health assessment process. Using this separation, there is no way your personal identification can be matched with your health assessment; therefore, there is no need to provide the health assessment site with a name or other contact information besides an e-mail address where we can send your Health Report, as we will have no need to know who you are.

Furthermore, your answers to the questions asked during the assessment process are reviewed only by the program, not by any person, and once your personal Health Report is produced and sent to you, all the information you have provided, including your Health Report, is purged. None of your answers or other information is collected, stored, or transmitted in any way to anyone, anyplace or anything at anytime.

Q: How many questions will there be?

A: This number can be highly variable, depending on your individual answers. The human body is extremely complex; there are thousands of possible conditions and related signs and symptoms that can be present. The more problems and symptoms you indicate, the lengthier is the questioning. MedicalAssessment™ does far more than simply connect a few obvious symptoms to a few common conditions; therefore, it should take you about 120 minutes to complete the questioning, but you will be able to pause the test, and you will have 72 hours in which to complete the test in its entirety.

Q: How long will this test take?

A: About 120 minutes. If you really want to produce an accurate medical history, then you must be resigned to the idea it will take you about 2 hours to complete the questioning (this number can be highly variable, depending on your individual answers). Remember, you will be able to pause the test at any point, and you will have up to 72 hours in which to complete the test in its entirety.

Q: What kind of questions will I be asked?

A: There are 4 sections of questions beginning with Vital Statistics and ending with Social History. Once all the sections are answered, you will be asked further follow-up questions specific to the medical history profile you created.

Q: What do I do if I do not recognize the name of the disease?

A: Click "NO". If you do not recognize the name, then chances are this disease has NOT been present; so answer, "NO".

Q: What do I do if I do not know or if I'm not sure about the answer to the question?

A: Click "NO". This test is designed to gather a thorough medical history, and there is a built-in redundancy; so there are multiple follow-up questions that are worded slightly differently that ask about the same vital subjects. You do NOT have to know everything, just be honest, and your medical history will be accurate.

Q: How do I contact the web site if I have problems?

A: Send an e-mail with a detailed description of your problem to solution@MedicalAssessment.com.
